Intel PRO/1000 GT not working on Debian

Hello everyone,

I was not sure whether to start a new topic or reply to this one. Anyway, I have the same Ethernet card (actually 3 of them) on a backup server I am trying to set. Windows Vista can see the NICs. But under Debian I can't find them anywhere.

I mean in the begginig I did

Code:
>>lspci |grep Ethernet
00:0a.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation CK804 Ethernet Controller (rev a3)
Which is the onboard ethernet controller. The rest of the NICs are not present. I did a lot of search and finally I downloaded/installed/loaded the e1000 driver the Intel gives from its webpage.

Code:
...downloaded...
...installed_the_driver...
>>modprobe e1000
>>dmesg |tail
...
[ 2594.885417] Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - version 8.0.35-NAPI
[ 2594.885420] Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Intel Corporation.
>>lspci |grep Ethernet
00:0a.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation CK804 Ethernet Controller (rev a3)
I don't know what else to do... Is there anything else you could suggest me to search for?

Thank you in advance.

How old is your Debian installation, which kernel are you running?

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: I took the liberty to split your post out of the three-year dead
thread and move it to HARDWARE
