intel 845GL and C-Media on board sound problem

I have pentium4 1.5 system with 256 MB DDR RAM. It has KOB 845GL NDSMx MB with on board sound and graphics. Display adapter is Intel 82845G/GL graphics controller and sound is C-Media AC97 version 2.2. I installed Mandrake Linux 8.2. I get only 16 bit 640x480 resolution for X. Sound is not at all recognised. Any help will be appreciated in making X good and sound functioning.

i have the same card running in my computer. it seams that there will be a driver available in the future. but you can run this card in frame buffer mode. you will find further informations about frame buffer on this web site: http://sdb.suse.de/de/sdb/html/wessels_easy_fbdev.html
