Yes, BW. The problem is just that the OP is trying to use Catalyst on hardware it won't handle anymore. They just need to let the in-kernel driver handle it, which is, as you said, the default behavior. But it's unclear what TeamViewer has to do with anything.

now you can color me stupid, what is 'TeamViewer'?

I believe TeamViewer is a remote desktop software.
