Unhappy Install reboots single board PC

I am trying to install Linux Fedora FC2 on a microcontroller that is stated to be "compatible" with the i386 archit. the pc boots the install cd

displays the install menu screens but when I try to continue it loads
the sections:

boot
vmlinuz
initrc.img

then the pc reboots

this is a single board pc, web-6580 based on the via c3 400 mhz.
with 256 meg memory, video, keyboard, mouse, usb, serial, par ports ect are all in a single card.

the system boots win xp ok, the current os, and the cd's are ok, since I used them to install on a desktop, memory test ok as well.

I tried the various install options as well, with out any change .
could it be I need to change something in the bios ?
If so suggestions to what

The harddrive is previously formatted ntfs for what's it worth

Ideas any one

tia
