I can't wait to post a linux success story on this thing.
Ok. I have a compaq presario 2100 (2110CA) and 3D accel on my igp320M (64M) is my linux unicorn right now.
I've put on Fedora Core 2 test, I've got the stock 2.6.1 kernel loaded, I haven't recompiled yet because I've had rotten luck so far compiling 2.6 kernels on this thing AND the AGP and DRM modules seem to already be there by default.
I've gotten XFree86 4.3.99 with the appropriate radeon IGP patches to run (from rpms provided on a link by a kind soul at http://consultmatt.co.uk/nx9005/radeon-igp/index.php ). I've made the changes to my XF86Config file (included below) and I've modprobed the radeon module, the agpgart boots up automatically in the kernel (dmesg output included below)...
The /var/XFree86.log seems to show all loading properly...
Yet, glxinfo says DRI is not enabled and glxgears gives me dismal FPS.
What am I missing? Any suggestions? Anything at all? I've read dozens of posts and pages, I could really use some pointers.
Some relevant info (sorry for the length of it):

I haven't recompiled yet because I've had rotten luck so far compiling 2.6 kernels on this thing AND the AGP and DRM modules seem to already be there by default.
The DRM modules may be there already, but they are the wrong version:
Code:
(WW) RADEON(0): Mismatched FB location. Incorrect version of DRM kernel driver is used.
Looks like you're going to have to do a recompile I'm afraid.
It looks like it means that your kernel has tried to load DRM as a module, but has loaded an incompatible version. Just recompiling the kernel should fix things (as long as you pick all of the right options of course...)
Note: On page 2, there is the main, important HOWTO posted by a user called captnjameskirk (thank you!) but you can't stop there...there are other hints in the rest of the thread that help IF you run into trouble. Foremost of which that the ebuild for xfree they mention isn't in the portage tree anymore but someone posts a link to it elsewhere.
Anyway...it works.
I'm a VERY happy guy....just installed and played Quake3 arena here and I'm moving on to NeverWinterNights
OMG i want to get 3d working sooooo badly on my compaq laptop... can't someone make it easier for me!!!?? i know it's asking too much really but i don't even know how to recompile mandrake 10's kenel... :*( ..
Looking hopeful tho as you say.. i have reading to do...
I have a few posts out there in different forums, dated a year or more ago, posting what Ive found, questions,
feedback, etc. about the IGP 320M. Still in 2d mode here tho (Slack X). Never did get it running.
Gonna give it one more shot, I'd hate to switch to a diff distro..
