i am using fedora core 2 and an intel 810 video card.i increased the video RAM to 16384....however if i still type the
command
# glxinfo | grep direct
the result is
# direct rendering : no
i checked the DRI section in XF86Config the mode is set to 0666
i am unable to set the DRI to "yes"
-----------------------------
moreover whenever i try manXFree86Config...it says no manual entry
#XFree86 -configure
#command not found
i added the module glxin the module section of my XF86config file... after that i typed the command glxinfo.....hte result was same
in short problem has not been resolved....
as far as I know ,the direct rendering must be enable in the kernel,so If you want that says "yes",you should recompile your kernel, and remember to choose the "direct rendering" in the kernel config before you recompiling the kernel .
thanx why i am asking htis problem is that whenever i try running games like tux or chromium..th emovements are very slow and jerky...so i presumed that this is due to less ram available for the graphic card ..but the problem is not solved.....any suggestions
oh,you wanna run the Tux Race with the i810?!
maybe it's impossible ,because the i810 not supported any 3D feature ...
so,my opinion is get a new graphic card !
