Hi,
Currently in the process of upgrading my 10 year old Linux Workstation. And in that regard I wonder if anyone have experience with one of the 3 processors:
Intel I9-9900K
Ryzen 7 3700x
Ryzen 9 3900x
For a workstation used for development/DB and heavy container usage will the Ryzen 7 be enough or should I go for the other 2 premium alternatives? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. All tests seems to only focus of performance relative to each other and/or gaming and any realworld experiences would be of more interesert I think.
I don't think you will get better answers. Who can run your tests? Who can measure your heavy container usage?
I think the real answer depends on your money, if you wish to buy the better one...
In every review I've read, the 3900x murders the 9900K in anything that can benefit from all the threads (so basically anything that's NOT gaming). The 3700X is VERY close to the 9900K in pretty much everything, although the 9900K is slightly superior when overclocked manually.
