Question HP dv8000 Mute LED won't function any more (OpenSuse 10.2)

I installed OpenSuse 10.2 on my HP dv8000 notebook. Previously, in 10.1, I didn't have support for the volume up/down and Mute buttons. Although when I pressed the mute button its LED would come on.

Now that I have 10.2 I can mute but the LED won't come on indicating mute. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe...

I know that at the moment I do not have a proper sound driver for my computer because its a Conexant chip... They just recently provided the ALSA developers (or just one) with some documentation for their chipset... so once I get the next test patch of the ALSA driver I'll see if it fixes the problem.
