Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

HP 4100C Scanner

I just acquired a HP 4100C Scanner which has been tested and is working in Windows 98.

In SUSE via Yast->Scanner it's detected but oddly i'm getting two entries:

Code:
Driver Scanner
Not Configured Hewlett-Packard HP ScanJet 4100C USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [Hewlett Packard], product=0x0101 [HP ScanJet 4100C]) at libusb:002:005
Not Configured USB scanner (vendor=0x046d, product=0x0920, chip=ICM532B?) at libusb:003:002
'sane-find-scanner' reports:

Quote:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x046d, product=0x0920, chip=ICM532B?) at libusb:003:002
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0, product=0x0101) at libusb:002:005
However, 'scanimage -L' reports "No scanners were identified".

Is there some step I've missed and any ideas as to why there are two appearing?

Okay, sorry, I've spotted the problem. It only works if I 'rmmod spca5xx'.

'spca5xx' is the module necessary to run my Logitech Quickcam Express. Unfortunately I don't really know about USB conflicts or how to combat them. Will it be possible to have these two running together?
