HP 1050 j410 Deskjet All in One - Support

Is there any Linux distribution which supports the mentioned printer out of the box..I seem to be out of luck...Tried with Mint 10 , I dwnloaded hplip 3.11.1 and followed instructions on hplipopensource.com , but OMG it is so complicated..I ran the bash script upon downloading the file..I am unable to install all the needed dependencies ...For some it says not installed, When I try to install , it says it is in conflict with some other package and cannot install!! i am going in circles!

I have never struggled so much in installing a printer..I was thinking Ubuntu and Mint are probably the most popular around..i am willing to shift to any distro which supports my printer ..Pls help!! Also , scan should work...It is also not getting recognized by Xsane and other scanning apps!

Then you would need to see if any distro offers some package management version of hplip. Or find a distro that matches what the creators tended to use.

You have selected Ubuntu 10.10 using the HP Deskjet 1050 j410 All-in-one Printer.

Ubuntu 10.10 supplies HPLIP 3.10.11 and it does support your printer.
