How to tell which disk is external and which is internal

Hi,

I need to know which disks on my server are internal and which are external on a SAN.

fdisk shows all the devices as sda - sdj
dmesg does not show any disks in it, server not been rebooted for 77 days.
dmidecode does not help much either.

How can I tell which dev is which disk.

I have looked at cat /proc/scsi/scsi but again can't tell which of those are on which dev.

You should know it by the capacities and the partitions inside.

Can you tell a "G" an internal, external, USB, Firewire or SCSI in a MS Windows?

Most mobo detect the external disks last so it can only be a sda when there is no internal disk in the box.
