How to find audio driver in Backtrack 4 R2


i am a newbie,i have already installed backtrack 4 RC2 in my netbook (asus eeepc 1005HA),, but i have no audio in my netbook. please help me in order to find my audio driver.

You can do a 'lspci -vv' to show devices and kernel drivers used. Plus you could use 'lsmod' to see the modules loaded.

If your install has recognized the sound device then as root do 'alsaconf'. If your sound is then setup, you must do as root 'alsamixer' to set parameters levels. After which as root 'alsactl store', this should then setup sound for you on each boot.

I use BK as a LiveCD for diagnostics but the above should work for setting up 'alsa'. BTW, you can 'man command' to learn or understand the commands given.

What part do you not understand in the above? You can 'su -' in a terminal or 'sudo command'. I prefer doing any system work as 'root' at console. Once you do the commands in the above quote then the sound should be available.
