I would very much like to use my lovely old cheapo (generic, brandless) gamepad that pugs into my soundcard's gameport. But no matter what I try, no
/dev/input/js0 will show up in
/dev/input.
My particulars:
- Linux OpenSuse 10.3
- kernel 2.6.22.13-0.3-default
- alsa 1.0.14
- soundcard: Trust CMI8738 (chipset: cmi8738)
- alsa module: snd-cmipci
I've tried via
modprobe:
- gameport
- ns558
- analog
- joydev
- snd-cmipci joystick_port:0x200
- snd-cmipci joystick_port=1 (1 means 'auto')
But nothing works. According to
/usr/src/linux-2.6.22.13-0.3/Documentation/sound/alsa/joystick.txt and
http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Joystick_support at least one of those commands should give me my desired
dev/input/js0. By the way: I have my joypad connected.
What can I do?
