And for your question:
Linux dont use "drivers", it uses "modules" that are basicly the same thing only that they are compiled into the kernel itself.
I'm not sure i can help you with your problem though but if you cant get it working it might work with the windowsdrivers in "ndiswrapper". But thats actually for ethernet and WLAN cards but it works on other stuff too.
