Lightbulb Help on new SCSI adapter installed in Linux server

Hello all,

For RedHat 7.2 and possibly 9)

Due to a disk access performance issue; I must upgrade the current SCSI adapter (BusLogic BT-930) of our mail server to a new Adaptec Ultra160.

The new card is Linux compatible. In addition to the current one, I installed it in the system and was detected, the driver was installed.

Now of course when I take out the old card and try to make the system boot on the new one; I get a 'kernel panic' error.

Where could I possibly tell the system to boot on the new card instead of the old BusLogic?

Thank you,

-Marc

Hi..

You have to change the module.conf file to configure this scsi adapter.

Make a new initrd file

Update lilo/Grub

It will work
