I have a Hauppauge WinTV PCI-card running on Mandrake 9.2. Both xawtv and tvtime work fine, video works fine but I can't get any sound.
As for my sound card configuration I have a Soundblaster Live using EMU-10k which works fine and I currently have active speakers connected to the line out of the TV card to bypass the sound card. Still I can't get any sound for the TV-card. Can you help me out?
Thanks for your quick reply. I have attached two external speakers to the Audio-Out of the TV card which worked fine on previous installations.
As for the modules: The video is fine but I can't get any sound. The only sound I get is a 'popping sound' when I change channels. I tried 'modprobe bttv' but that didn't help unfortunately. Does a TV card require a separate sound module or can you think of any other suggestions?
Hi Auditek, thanks for your help. I think that's probably it but I got my card up and running again. Still the way I got there was quite unorthodox. I downloaded a Live-CD (Knoppix a KDE-CD based distribution from knopper.net) and my TV card worked fine on this one. When I rebooted into Mandrake I also got the card running again. Suppose that one of the chips had not been initialised properly.
