Hardware Identification

I am having a devil of a time finding out what type of a machine my Linux server is. I know that the Manufactor is IBM, but uname provides no help.
$ uname -a
Linux chmaryhq 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jun 5 23:25:19 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Getting in touch with someone in the datacenter is almost impossible.

Thanks in adavnce,
beev

Install it??? It should be available through repositories (you don't say which distro/version you're using), or you can download and compile from source....

Hi,
lshw is another command that will give quite a lot of detail about installed hardware. There is a graphical version as well.
This link might get you on the right track.
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat...86_64.rpm.html

But, first, I would try
yum list available lshw-\*

Cheers,
J
