Hardware components suggestions for building a lismartphone : project ARA diy

Hello,yesterday I found this project :

https://www.hackster.io/news/build-y...t-e432012dfa7f

and I have immediately fell in love for it. I would like to make something like that,BUT with some differences. Which are these differences ? Well :

1) I want to install Linux instead of Android. Maybe Ubuntu touch ? or ? do u have any other linux distro in mind ?

2) I want to upgrade some hardware components like the mobo and the screen, but maybe the whole hardware configuration, since that kit is 2 years old.

So,my questions are :

1) can you suggest to me some new hardware component to be updated on the hardware innovation

2) Regarding the screen,I want to change the "5" 720p touchscreen module" suggested on the kit with the screen used
on the Blackberry Passport, that I love very much.

3) since I want to try to make a phone that seems to be like the
Google project ARA,I don't want to solder the components. So,I want to find the components that can be attached together easily.

I wait with anxiety your suggestions. thanks.

Unfortunately generic smartphone components are not available like you find for a regular computer. What you desire is really not possible at the moment.
