It only makes some disturbing noise for a few seconds.
That doesn't sound good. What's the "disturbing noise" sound like? The "click of death" possibly? Or maybe a humming from a drive that won't spin up? Impossible to diagnose what you're experiencing with just that description (near impossible to remotely diagnose with any description, for that matter). However, "disturbing noise" sounds like it is something mechanical, and that's not good. If it's because the drive won't spin up, you can try rapping on the center of the drive carefully and maybe it will spin up if the vibration frees up something that is binding. But be ready to immediately copy everything off the disk to a safe location, because you might not ever be able to get it to spin up again if you power it down.

And I don't think that 2 TB can possibly be IDE compatible, either.....
He's got a picture of two SATA drives. Since he's got one of them working in the enclosure, it's a pretty solid assumption that this enclosure is SATA, no? Why are you talking about IDE? No understanding of your comment.
snowmagician - This thread is marked SOLVED. Does that mean you got it working (what did you find?), or abandoned the drive for dead?
