did you read what fancypiper suggested? You need to figure out the mount command.

What is your distribution, actually? Some distributions can make it pretty easy for you.

Yes, i red that but i didn 't understood it. I tried using the mount command but the problem is that when i try to mount a FAT partition it says that is not a compatible partition or there is too much to mount. So i want to know how to access to a hard disk with windows installed on it.
My distribution is Slackware 9.0.

which version of windows? If it is xp, 2k, or nt, the file system is most likely ntfs and not vfat.

Is that drive/partition supposed to be NTFS and do you have support for it compled into the kernel? If you compiled it as a module, is the module loaded?

lsmod

# Handling NTFS
New Technology FileSystem (NTFS) HOWTOs
Linux NTFS project

If not, apparently you have a drive with one partition that (probably) isn't formatted, since fdisk doesn't recognize any filesystem.

If that is the case, then format the partitions with the chosen filesystem:
mke2fs /dev/hdbX -> ext2
mke2fs -j /dev/hdbX -> ext3
mkswap -> swap
mkreiserfs -> reiserfs
mkfs.xfs -> xfs

Donīt worry i already solved it. Apparently the first time i tried to mount it, i did it wrong. But now i tried again mounting it as a msdos partition and worked, then i tried also to mount it as a vfat partition and also worked.
Now i only have a little problem: if i do an auto mount an user canīt open it well (it has nothing inside), but with root it is 0K.
