Graphics card and DVD writer

Hi!

I'm looking for the following components for my box. A graphics card, DVD Reader and DVD Writer units (IDE).

I'll get Nvidia for the graphics, with PCI-express slot, such as GeForce 6600 or 7300GS, as they are cheaper enough for me and appear in Nvidia's list. I only want them to be fully compatible with linux (3D too). The primary use won't be gaming, but I'd like it to be able to run for example Doom 3 or some graphical apps like Blender or Maya.

DVD reader seems easier to choose: Lite-On, Samsung or Philips... I suppose them all work fine under Linux, but want to avoid some problems (remember issues related to LG-readers and Mandrake).

And for the DVD Writer, the same brands are here plus Pioneer, Sony or Nec, also considering Plextor if there's some unit not too expensive. Just want a dual-layer +/-R recorder to burn dvd and cd's...

Any recommendation for these things?

Thank you very much!!

I have an NEC 8x DL-dvd/rw and a 16x of the same, both are functioning perfectly after over 2 years(for the 8x, 1.5 for the 16x), I am very happy with my NEC dvdrw drives. I'm anti-Lite-On myself, the dvd-rom drive I had from them stopped working after less than a year. I can't remember what happened to my lite-on cdrw drive, but suffice to say I don't use it anymore.

And apart from nvidia's drivers not being able to handle the use of a display connected through s-video in combination with a framebuffer console (works fine with a regular console), I'm also quite content with my 6600gt (mine is AGP btw).

I've had no issues with any of these parts under linux (except the driver limitation I mentioned).
