Getting a Creative Zen mp3 to work

According to this web site (http://www.linux.ie/articles/tutorials/zen.php), you can make a Creative Zen mp3 player work.

I did what he suggested and downloaded both gnome2 and libnjb and ./configure(d), ma(d)e and ma(d)e install. Yet when I try to run the gnome2 I get this:

./gnomad2: error while loading shared libraries: libnjb.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried copying a file that looked like that in the same directory (libnjb.so.5.1.0) but I still get the same message.

Anyone know the solution.

Thanx.

If you lib are in /usr/local/lib you should add "/usr/local/lib" to your /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig or /sbin/ldconfig depending of your distro. The name of /etc/ld.so.conf may vary depending of your distro.. Please include more information in your post..

Next problem...

Now, gnome2 comes up but it says that it can't find a jukebox. I get this message in the X window:

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file ../../gtk/gtktreeview.c: line 5158 (do_validate_rows): assertion `gtk_tree_model_iter_next (tree_view->priv->model, &iter)' failed.

And I get under that:

PDE device NULL when my Zen mp3 is plugged into the USB.
??

I am using Mandriva Linux 2006.

Thank you.

To debug, I need more information! but I think this http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthre...199250&page=13 or this http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=374428 can helps you. Check if your system has libmtp libnjb gnomad2 and after that try to `mount -t /dev/mtp`...
