Fuse size for TFT screen

Greetings all,

This is probably a simple question but i really need to know the answer. I have acquired a tower and TFT screen and a range of cables with 5A, 10A and 13A fuses in them. I'm thinking the tower will need a 5A fuse, and a 13A fuse wouldn't be to much for any computer equipment. My question is, what would be the best fuse size for a TFT monitor. The power cable plugs into a box which then plugs into the VGA cable in the back of the tower (emachines). Is there a way to work out the recommended amp size for a fuse?

Thanks for your time and any help you can offer..

Cheers :-)

If I can remember this stuff volts x amps = watts

So if the PC has a 500 watt power supply then

amps = 500 / 200 = 2.2

My TFT uses about 30 watts so lets assume 50 for yours that gives 0.22 amps

So a 5 amp fuse is fine for the PC and 2 amp or smaller for the TFT.

I am assuming the AC mains are 220 volts.

Good luck .. keep a bucket of sand handy !!!!!

Thanks a lot for the replies. In the end i decided to use a 5 amp on the PC and 5 amp on the TFT (no 2 amp fuses). All seems to be running fine and no need for the bucket of sand...lol

Thanks again
