^ - dmesg after my system froze for a bit

Nothing much was happening, i was just listening to something in xmms and browsing in firefox.

This is the third or so time that that has happened. as the title says, i have a samsung MP0402H. it's in a dell inspiron 1100 with a 2200's motherboard & bios.

Well, better make a backup. It won't harm. Then you could use smartmontools to see if you find something particular. Or is it possible that your hard drive gets shuts down (power saving) and then causes this error when spinned up?
