Aagrajag LQ Newbie Registered: May 2003 Posts: 6 Rep:	Forcing CD spin-down in Knoppix Hope I'm posting this in the right forum. Problem: After a harddrive crash, I'm running Knoppix 5.0.1 (Japanese version), and the CD drive never spins down, which is leaving me concerned about unnecessary wear-and-tear on the drive. Earlier versions (3.6 for example) did not behave this way. Is there any way to force the CDROM drive to spin down? Thanks for the help.
