Firewire Adaptec 4300


I recently installed SuSe 9.2., the kernel version is 2.6.8. Most of the hardware works just fine, but i can't get my camcorder to work. it is connected to a adaptec fireconnect 4300. the dmesg output:

I tried google and found some references to linux1394.org but i always get timeout-errors when i try to connect to that website.

Any ideas what to do?
