firedtv tv tuner on centos 6

I'm having difficulty with a firedtv tv tuner on centos 6 and I found this file here:
http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source...e/firedtv-fw.c
how does one utilise this file? do I have to build the firmware myself from it? there are no instructions on the page regarding what one does with this file. Thanks for any help.

@john - sorry to keep pushing this topic but I'd like to get this box working on centos 6 and also found this page:
https://github.com/comutt/linux-kern.../firedtv-dvb.c

what do I need to do with this file to integrate it into my system? sorry to be such a noob but I've never had to build my own firmware before.

that kernel mod is 2 years old

you would need a two year old kernel -- not a great idea

but it might build on the current in 6.7 ?

do you mind if I ask how a newbie goes about building a new kernel from this file?
