We are planning building a Intel Xeon Quad Core Server running Fedora Core 6.Can i expect any problems utilizing all 4 cores of the CPU,or will the linux kernel pick up all 4 without any problems?I know its fine for dual core CPU's,but this will be our first quad core.
Also,Any tips for how to optimize the use of all 4 cores?
I would recommend CentOS for a server considering that Fedora has such short support cycles. It's a Red Hat clone so nearly identical to Fedora but with far longer support cycles. It also requires far less maintenance than a Fedora system, which is more of a RedHat beta than a stable system.
