fedora core 2 (kernel 2.6.7) 9800 pro #HELP#

when I try to install my ati 9800 pro drivers.. I get

[root@pc-18-201 Driver]# rpm -i --force fglrx-4.3.0-3.9.0.i386.rpm
*** Trying to install a precompiled kernel module.

and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module.
Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh'
in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository.
(see readme.txt for more details.)

As of now you can still run your XServer in 2D, but hardware acclerated

im really as stumped as you are king.

I am as stumped as you are man, cuz im having the same problem. i mean, with fc2 defaults, it detects my 9800 pro as a non pro.

there is an option under system settings that is called display. Under there you may find a tab where you can toggle the Vcard. The weird thing is that i config it into a 9800 pro, make it acknowledge it, and restart xserver. and when it does restart, it still keeps detecting a 9800 non-pro.

So i tried to install the ATI drivers, and had no luck there anyway... so i would need some help also
