Hi all,
I'm facing a very strange problem here. My machine (Debian Unstable + Kernel 2.6.6) locks ups without aparent reason. Nothing in the kernel log, no way to reproduce it (it happens with any sort of applications loaded, at a random time).
Question is: it doesn't completely locks up, but got locking up for seconds, making it unusable (even the network doesn't respond to a ping).
From what I could detected, the programs that suffer the most with this locks are the ones which do I/O. Top shows no program hogging the CPU (even after a telinit 1 the problem continues, excluding any "normal" program as the cause for the locks). Rebooting is the only way to make things normal.
On Windows, even after 1 week up (believe or not Windows holds up that amount of time opened here
) nothing like this happens.
My mobo is an Asus A7V266-C, with an Athlon XP Palomino 1900+.
Oh, nearly forgot: I'm running the latest NVIDIA drivers.
