factorial segfaults freezing the system temporarily


I have been receiving the following errors in linux quite frequently since our last update...we did update world to update the machine, checked all our configs, etc. and everything seemed to work find, however, we get temporary freezing of the machine just before it spits out an error in dmesg, and I can't seem to track it down:
