Unhappy External USB drive problem

I'm running Kubuntu 12.04. I have two external 3.5" 500gb drives and they work just fine. I was given a 300gb 2.5" laptop drive. Bought a $7 enclosure on ebay. Put it together at work (windows 7 machine) and formatted the drive NTFS (like my other drives) and thought all was well. Comes right up ANY windows machine. Took it home and Linux can't even see it!?!?! What gives?

Look at the output of lsusb and the dmesg commands to see if the enclosure/drive is being recognized or if there are errors. Does the drive use external power or via USB?

Unhappy lsusb & power

lsusb can't see the drive and it's using usb for power ONLY. My other two drives have separate power supplies. They are both 3.5" drives and this is a 2.5" laptop drive. Works just fine in windows. Linux can't even see it. . .

Any error or messages of any type in the output of the dmesg command that pertain to the drive?
