Post external hardware modem

need a driver to use with dual booting xp ubuntu
tried scanmoden in linux
shows number of modems found=0

First tell us which distro you are using. Are you trying to set it up using a dialer (such as kppp or wvdial)?

got ubuntu 7.04 installed with xp on same hard drive
dialer shows ppp windows/95/98/nt4/2000,internet
