I have found this Controller as supported by Kernel 2.6. I was expecting some notices in dmesg or /var/log/syslog when i connecting a external drive to the eSATA-Controller but nothing happens.
I'm out of ideas now, so i greatly appriciate any hints.

Hmm, i was expecting problems right from the moment i realized the Autodesk "manipulated" kernel...
And the other link seems to be broken....
But at the moment i have no time for a deeper investigation. Because the installation is very old i think i'll install a fresh RH5 and give it a new try.
