emu10k1 listed as in use but no sound


i have a sb live 5.1 card. kinda old now but the driver emu10k1 is installed but im not sure if its the right i might need emu10k.

when i do insmod -n emu10k1 i get unresolved symbol

not sure what the deal is.

im using slackware 9.1

Unresolved symbols means that the module is not put into your kernel. This is usually the result of having the wrong version of a module ( or compiled incorrectly ).

ok, how do i put the right version in there ???

make sure the version of emu10k1 was compiled for your current kernel version. If not download a version that matches. ( try emutools . I don't know much about slack ).

( current version is found with the command uname -r ).
