DVD ROM...On an anti-game strike?

I am trying to install UT2004 on my Suse 9 pro. The problem is that after I run the first disk in the DVD/CD ROM, and it asks me for disk two, the drive stops working. You can still see the contents of the disk on it.....but it won't light up when it looks and it won't eject the disk so I can put in disk two. Does this make any sense?

I unmounted the rom...then mounted it again. Once I look to see what is on the disk, I am no longer able to open the drive again. I tried to unmount it yet again to retry, but it said the device was busy so it couldn't.

I can't believe Suse would put out a product that can't even get something like this straight!

umount -l should work i think

And the problem's with the installer not suse - its not freeing the drive and the system
thinks its still in use.
