Dual Layered DVD won't mount

Hi all,

I am using Agnula Linux a derivitive of the Debian Distro and when I load in a Dual Layered DVD I get an error when I try to mount it which reads

Drivemount command failed.
"mount media/cdrom 2>&1" reported:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdb,
missing codepage or other error

If I run a dmesg | tail I get.... "Unable to identify cdrom format"

I thought that the prob may be in my fstab cdrom id which is below.

I have no idea how to fix this can anyone help please???
Thanks in advance

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/sda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/sda4 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/sdb1 /samples ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/sda3 /usr ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/sda2 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hdb /media/cdrom0 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0

So what is on this DVD? Data, movie etc. etc
If it is data then how was it created?

iso9660 is the filesystem for data CDs, udf is the filesystem for DVDs.

Try mounting the DVD
mount -t udf /dev/hdb /media/cdrom

If it works you can modify the fstab:
/dev/hdb /media/cdrom0 iso9660,udf ro,user,noauto 0 0

Just specify auto because for the optical drive because not all Linux distribution are compatible with iso9660,udf format.
