The Fall creators update for Windows 10 was around 3.7GB in size, it ran my 4GB bandwidth account over the limit and cost me money.

Some folks may have had enough space on these 29GB drives (after formatting and recovery partition) to download it and cache it, but applying the update maxed out the drive space and flipped the write reliability bit to 0, just need to flip it to 1 with mmc-utils.

I follow jefro's advice and went into further complexities. Specifically, to put it in practice I tried what is here said: https://cialu.net/how-to-install-fed...mmc-with-uefi/. It looked promising but did not work, for now. But what about Brains? I'll follow Brains as a next step. I had Slackware during the past couple of years. What if Slackware 14.2, with some slight tweak understands eMMC? Alright, why not ask in there forum? I'd prefere to keep all in a single thread, to avoid dispersion.

So just now the question is: does Slackware 14.2 have provisions for eMMC disks? Or more generally, for flash memory devices emulating a hard disk?

Yes, Slackware supports eMMC devices. No, the Slackware USB installer does not have all the modules for every type of disk. You may need to copy eMMC related modules to the USB installer and modprobe them. Here is a brief description how I did this with my eMMC device: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...8/#post5467356
