To explorer: yes, well, my Epson scanner works under Linux ok, but the all in one hp machine won't, in spite of hpoj and hpijs drivers. But I do find it strange that, after updating to Fedora from RH9.2, I got the printer working. If only I knew what had changed. The kernel is only a 2.4.22..... something, hardly a radical change from RH9 2.421
I sometimes find the scanner won't work. Then I start it under Win, shut it down again, then start Linux, then it works again. So it must be left in an unready state, and needs a reset or something. I wish I knew how to do that from Linux, you know, reset /dev/usb/scanner0, maybe it can be done?
