Disabling PnP OS support on MultiPRO BIOS?

Hi everyone.

I am trying to get SUSE 10 to run on a Medion M40780 (Medion Cybercom MI2020) laptop. Unfortunaetly the ethernet adapter, an integrated Sis900 base 10/100Mbit/s card, won't run.

There are two drivers involved:
sis900.ko
mii.ko.

sis900 is depended on the mii chip, hence the dependency.

However the card reports the conflict "SIOCSIFFLAG: Device or resource busy" when I try to change any parameters whatsoever. According to other threads, there is a conflict between the mii module and the biod PnP OS support. Disabling the BIOS PnP OS is supposed to solve the problem...

The system uses a Insyde Software MobilePRO BIOS Version 4.00.01 (according to the windows registry). The BIOS interface however does not offer any PnP related options. So the question is: How am I supposed to disable something the BIOS obviously has but does not offer an interface for?

I just wanted to say that the problem has been solved.

I have compiled the 2.6.22 kernel using the mandrake 2006 community edition kernel configs as a base. the mII driver now loads without any problems. the device works perfectly ok as well.
