Question Difference?

Is there a noticeable difference between first and third party graphics cards? I ask this because I have a VisionTek XTASY 9200 SE 128MB PCI graphics card (ATI Radeon 9200 SE VPU) and I know I have to use the drivers directly from ATI for Windows, but with Linux I'm having great difficulties getting it to work in linux. Might the drivers supplied by ATI for linux not work with a third party card?

If the card is based off the ATi reference card then yes the same drivers should in theory work.
However, you never know.

Can you get the radeon DRI driver to work?

DRI driver? The only drivers I've attempted have been directly from the ATI driver site: Linux>Graphics Drivers>Radeon 9200 Series

The driver that comes with xorg/xfree. It's called the DRI driver, and is named: radeon.

The driver is open source. . . unlike ATi's driver and it supports 3D for your card.
