Devuan Jessie lacks driver for HP DeskJet 3630.

New to Devuan (and Debian). I am trying to print to my HP DeskJet 3630, but even after installing the backports version of hplip, I can't seem to get the necessary driver to setup and print to the printer. What do I need to do?
----
To be clear, no recent HP printer models appear to be supported.

This printer isn't on http://www.openprinting.org/printers, it's not a good sign! In general deskjet printers only bring problems.

It is supported by HPLIP (version 3.15.6) according to this page. I'm not familiar with Devuan, but if necessary download and install a current version from the HPLIP site. Once installed, you should be able to configure with 'hp-setup'.

Most packages in Devuan Jessie are the same than in Debian Jessie, so it should be in backports: 3.16.11

Thus, your printer is supported since HPLIP 3.15.7(https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-i.../release_notes) so it should work.

Are you sure you installed the 3.16? Make a dpkg -l | grep hplip and look at the version displayed

There are no four digit DeskJet drivers listed in 3.16.

Sorry, there are 1100c pcl3, 1200c pjxl300 and 1600cm Postscript listed, but they don't look like anything that I can use.

Interesting. I went into the CUPS web interface <http://localhost:631/admin/> and was able to set up the printer without any problem. I am using the Trinity desktop environment, and for some reason, the newer printer drivers aren't listed in the GUI setup.

For HPLIP printers, the 'hp-setup' utility is provided to help configure CUPS, although (as you've now realised) the CUPS web interface can do the same directly.

The utility is provided as part of the hplip package.
