Question Device tree available settings?

How can I determine what settings are available to use in a device tree for a given device driver?

Thanks but I understand the basic concepts. What I need to know or find out is what all of the available properties are for a given loadable module. In this case, I'm talking about analog to digital converters whose drivers are part of the mainline kernel. I've looked in the Documentation area of the kernel sources but there isn't anything in there for Analog's chips. Even Analog's own website doesn't talk about this. So, there must be a way to determine this by looking at the source code for the driver.
