device filename for tape drive

I feel really stupid asking this question but what is the device filename for a tape driver? I have seen it vary from /dev/nst0 to /dev/st0

Different types of tapes have different device names. I think that /dev/nst0 and /dev/st0 are the device names for a tape mounted on a SCSI controller. You use /dev/nst0 when you do not want the tape to rewind when you close it. You use /dev/st0 when you want the tape to rewind when you close it.
