Angry Dell Latitude D600 unable to startx

Hi there,

I've purchase a DELL D600 notebook and installed Linux 7.2 to test one of my apps. Unfortunately I can't startx to use the Xwindows. I've checked the onboard driver, it is Radeon 9000 with 64MB ram. Can anyone give me the pointer to download for any patches?

Thanks.

Yes, the patch to get is Mandrake Linux 9.1, or Suse 8.2.
See http://www.linuxcd.org/?ref=linuxiso
After installing, get the Radeon patches from ATI.

Then,

Then

See also http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/dell.html for info on D600 linux laptops.
