Dell AIO 810 - Has ANYONE got it work AT ALL in Linux? :(

I'm writing this in Windows, and yet I love Linux. Why am I using the other OS - I needed to do some printing. There seems to be no support at all for the Dell AIO 810 (a rebranded Lexmark 2470, I think). I have done google searches and all I have found has been negative.

Has anyone got it to work. I'm willing to try any solution, command line, alien (I use Ubuntu), even from source. I would even ry running somehing under wine, but I'll doubt I'd have much luck. In the end I might run windows in a virtual machine just so I don't have to reboot.

I know I could just buy a new compatible printer, but other people in my family would not be happy as we already have a "perfectly good one" (of course it's Linux's fault that it doesn't work).

So, please, has anyone had any luck with this printer. (I'm not holding up much hope, but I guess there's a small chance).

I'd seen that, but was hoping there might be some way I could possibly get it working. It wouldn't work in a Windows virtual machine on Linux either would it.

It will work in a virtual Windows on a Linux system, one has to configure the USB and/or LPT port for use with the virtual OS is all. VMWare sever(free), player(free) or workstation(not free in most cases) are good but not the only choices for this.

For me it used to work on VirtualBox running XP, but it does not seem to work anymore (be it in the VirtualBox or on Vista).
