Debian 11.1 - Elantech Touchpad Tap

ASUS X200CA with Elantech touchpad (verified)
Crunchbang++ (Debian Bullseye 11.1)

Debian Wiki gives these instructions to enable tap to click on this touchpad:

"Enable tapping on touchpad

Debian 9 "Stretch" is using libinput driver

$ mkdir -p /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
$ echo 'Section "InputClass"
Identifier "libinput touchpad catchall"
MatchIsTouchpad "on"
MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
Driver "libinput"
Option "Tapping" "on"
EndSection' > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf
$ systemctl restart lightdm"

I made the directory but than I get this return:

Code:
ken@ken-asus:~$ cd /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
ken@ken-asus:/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d$ echo 'Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "libinput touchpad catchall"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "libinput"
        Option "Tapping" "on"
EndSection' > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf
bash: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf: Permission denied
What did I do wrong?
