Cpu voltage control

My proccy has a overvoltage prob( hence overheating prob) so i undervolt it a little bit with "cpupowerd", but it's frequency controlling is very nasty while that of cpufreq is quite good and also cpupowerd is not maintained I think. So are there any good cpu voltage controlling apps around(or is it already available in cpufreq, I heard there's a kernel patch)?

I don't have any experience with this kind of thing, but isn't there an option for CPU Voltage in the BIOS? If there is, that might work out better.

As I said my cpu itself has a prob it seems to get 0.5 volts higher than it should. So even setting 1.3v(its the minimum) it gets 1.35v but my cpu's voltage range is 1.25-1.3volts.

This is interesting...

Did you see this guide for undervolting a CPU? I am without practical experience here and can do nothing but point in a given direction.
