Couple of kernel 2.6.6 problems

Ive upgraded my kernel to 2.6.6 but im have a few problems.

first off dma isnt working, the first time I compiled i forgot to turn on the option, but I have recopmiled with it and Im having no luck with it.

lspci | grep IDE
Code:
00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801BA IDE U100 (rev 05)
cat /usr/src/linux/.config | grep dma -i
Code:
CONFIG_GENERIC_ISA_DMA=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PCI=y
# CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_FORCED is not set
CONFIG_IDEDMA_PCI_AUTO=y
# CONFIG_IDEDMA_ONLYDISK is not set
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_ADMA=y
# CONFIG_HPT34X_AUTODMA is not set
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA=y
# CONFIG_IDEDMA_IVB is not set
CONFIG_IDEDMA_AUTO=y
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_DMA_ADDRESSING_MODE=1
second, in tty terminals, my mouse creates characters when i click, left click makes a q, right click makes a w, its kind of annoying.

third, I have no consol beep, which isnt a big deal but i miss it.

dunno about the mouse.. mayb has something to do whit a bad gpm config?

about the PC-speaker.. discovered how to get that beep back by accident a while back. In the kernel-config, set
INPUT_MISC to yes, and INPUT_PCSPKR to yes.

should give you some beeping

Ok, it is not a gpm problem. Even without gpm started it makes letters when i click. I think some how it thinks my mouse is also a keyboard be cause its typing Q W E R, for buttons 1-4. Any ideas?

How did you fix your DMA problem? DMA works fine under 2.4 but under 2.6.5 when I try hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc3 it says HDIO_SET_DMA failed.
