I'm just running SpinRite to attempt to recover a drive that suddenly developed a bunch of problems. It's managed to recover most of the disc, but there a whole bunch of sectors that are reported as only partially recovered.

Is there any way to "reverse" back from the relative sector in the partition, back to the actual file/directory, so I can see which files/directories are still damaged.

This is a reiserfs partition.

A hard drive contains sectors that can be used for users and backup sectors when shit goes wrong. I recommend get a equal or larger hard drive. Partition the new drive and format it. Then use dd to make an image file of the bad drive. Next using the hard drive manufacture software, tell it to reallocate the bad sectors. After it is finish, use ReiserFS utilities to reconstruct the journal and maybe the data. Just to warn you, ReiserFS has a high probability for failing. I recommend either EXT3 or XFS.
